Chronicles of Ashenfall is a gritty, dark fantasy, boffer LARP with an emphasis on Player Agency and collaborative storytelling. We host four games per year at Taber Creek in Union, CT.

Our game takes place in the outpost of Mysthaven and in a world that is still recovering from a horrific calamity only several generations prior. You can expect plots that focus on building up the local area of the outpost, thrilling combat, and an emphasis on cause, effect, and the consequences of player actions–both good and bad.
Due to the nature of our storytelling, themes, and emphasis on immersion, all potential participants must submit a brief application to help ensure that our game is a good fit for their playstyle. Once you've created an account and logged in, you'll see an option to submit your application in your Profile page!
Looking To Play?
Want to carve out your own story in the world of Aldwa? Apply to play!
After your application is reviewed and accepted, you will be able to submit a character backstory. Be creative, but be prepared for feedback! Our Lore Writing team will review your backstory and reach out with questions and suggestions to help fit your character concept into the game world. You might find out that there's another hometown that better fits your character or be given information that only your character knows.
Once your backstory is approved, you can register for events and select skill pathways to use in game. We can't wait to see you in Mysthaven!
Note: There are costuming and makeup requirements for each playable species. There are no mechanical advantages or disadvantages to playing any species, so we encourage you to choose one that you feel comfortable portraying for an entire weekend.

After your application is reviewed and accepted, you will be able to register for upcoming events! You'll also get access to a cast-specific area on Discord where you can ask questions, look up resources, and chat with fellow cast members. We do our best to minimize exposure to anything that would prevent you from being a player should you decide to play in the future.
Perm Cast
Don't want to play at all? Perm casting may be right for you! To become perm cast, you must commit to attend three or more games per year. Becoming perm cast gives you access to additional information and casting options. As perm cast, you can:
- Create a local facerole character to socialize in game, push plots, and bring the town of Mysthaven to life.
- Become a big bad or major facerole in one of our ongoing stories.
- Work with a Plot Writer to create plots you'd like to help run.
Once you've become perm cast, you'll be unable to play until any plots you've been exposed to have run their course.
